Meet at the Rocky Valley Trailhead.

Seasons are changing at Pinnacle! Come get a sneak preview of plants that are getting ready to bloom along the Rocky Valley Trail. If you have a plant guide, make sure to bring one!

Stargazing Hayrides

Can you point to the north star? Join park interpreters for an enjoyable evening searching the night sky on a hayride. The night wouldn't be complete without hot chocolate! Advance reservations required. Admission: $8 adults, $4 children ages 6-12

Survival Skills: Fire Workshop

Meet at the visitor center.

Can rubbing two sticks together really make fire? Join park interpreters to learn how to build a fire using a primitive bow drill. Contact the park to reserve your space in this fun, hands-on workshop. This is a fun program for families with children looking for an outdoor activity to do together. Admission: Free

Meet at the Kingfisher Trailhead.

Stroll along the easy, paved, 1/4-mile Kingfisher Trail with a park interpreter. We'll be sure to take time to "stop and smell the blooms" of spring! This is a fun, engaging activity for families with children who want a safe outdoor activity to do together. Admission: Free

Experience the vibrant colors of the setting sun while cruising over the calm waters of Lake Maumelle near the base of Pinnacle Mountain. A park interpreter will serve as your pilot and guide on this boat tour. Dress in layers for cool evening temperatures. Space is limited. Advance payment is required.

Ouachita Trail 50 Mile and 50K Race

The Arkansas Ultra Running Association is hosting a trail race that comes through Pinnacle Mountain State Park and continues on the Ouachita Trail. The course is out and back with six miles of asphalt and 44 miles of trail for the 50 mile (25 miles of trail for the 50K). The Ouachita Trail is a single-track recreational footpath, and is permanently marked with blue blazes. Approximately two miles of trails over Pinnacle Mountain will be utilized on the “out” section only. Eleven staffed aid stations for 50-mile; eight for 50K. Finisher awards for both races. Join a park interpreter for a spring wildflower stroll along some of the park's trails. This easy, guided walk will help you identify nature's bountiful beauties. Tenting at the Mountain

Have you always wanted to sleep under the stars, but didn't know where to start? Come join our park interpreters for a night or the weekend and let them show you how to become a camping pro. The weekend will be filled with nature programs and cooking demonstrations. Most camping equipment is provided. This is a fun, family-friendly event! Choose to stay Friday, Saturday, or both nights. Contact the park for details and reservations. Note: Pinnacle Mountain State Park is normally open for day use only, so this is a rare opportunity to stay overnight! Admission: $22 adults, $11 children, per night

Meet at the Environmental Education Pond.

Hey kids, bring your parents down to the pond for a free fishing contest! There will be how-to-fish clinics, casting contests, free snacks, and lots of prizes. Prizes will be given away throughout the event with a special prize for the biggest fish. Contest is for kids 15 and under. Bring your own bait and tackle. Admission: Free
