Poster
Set: Water a Precious Resource
Set
of three environmental posters that examine the problem of water scarcity and
how people around the world struggle to attain an adequate supply of freshwater.
(3 posters and Teachers guide. Subjects: Environment, Water supply, Water
Conservation.
Poster
1 - Water: Overview
Living things must have water to live. Yet the earths freshwater
supply is severely limited and unevenly distributed. As a result, people in many
parts of the world suffer from constant water shortages.
Poster
2 - Water: Focus Middle East
This poster examines the Middle East and its meager freshwater
resources. In that arid region, people constantly struggle to attain an adequate
supply of water. Consequently, the regions next wars may be over water,
rather than oil or religion.
Poster
3 - Water: A Global Look
Booming populations and limited water resources lead to conflicts
around the world. As people attempt to reroute the natural flow of fresh water,
they may damage the environment. Healthy solutions to water scarcity include
conservation, wastewater recycling, and desalination.
Stream
Tables
These
tables allow students to investigate the dynamics of stream formation and
erosion. One unit is located at the Visitor Information Center and the other is
a portable unit that can be taken to schools and On-site park locations.
Weather
